Dr. Michael Anning is one of the founding members of the Sarnia Chiropractic and Performance Centre. Dr. Anning graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Kinesiology from the University of Western Ontario. He went on to achieve his Doctor of Chiropractic Degree from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College (CMCC) in Toronto. Michael has completed post-graduate courses in medical acupuncture from the Acupuncture Foundation of Canada, soft tissue release, radiology, first responder, and is also certified from the National Strength and Conditioning Association as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist. Dr. Anning has experience practicing in Yorkville Toronto at a leading edge multidisciplinary practice where he worked with amateur, national level and professional athletes (representing the NHL, AHL, OHL, NCAA) as well as various media personalities, celebrity clients and CEO’s. Dr. Anning is the team chiropractor for the Sarnia Legionnaires of the Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League. He currently treats athletes in many different disciplines including the OHL, European professional leagues, and the National Hockey League. He has a keen interest in sports specific personal training and fitness, and has worked with the Sarnia Sting to help create an off-season fitness training regimen. Dr. Anning’s unique training background helps him to incorporate functional movements into active care. He utilizes training regimens to assist with low back pain and physical rehabilitation. He is specifically interested in the role of exercise and low back pain prevention. Dr. Anning was born and raised in Sarnia. He is married and the father to three children and enjoys playing hockey, golf and training year round.

Dr. Katherine Baert received her Honors Bachelor of Science Degree in Kinesiology from McMaster University in Hamilton in 2011. She continued on after to obtain her Doctorate of Chiropractic degree from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in Toronto in 2015. After completing her education Dr. Baert is excited to be back residing in Sarnia. She grew up playing sports and now volunteers with various local basketball teams. Dr. Baert’s approach to chiropractic care includes a variety of techniques including manipulative and soft tissue therapy, mobilizations, acupuncture, rehabilitation and patient education. She has completed additional courses to complement her treatment such as Contemporary Medical Acupuncture from McMaster University, Active Release Technique (ART®), Webster Technique for pre/post-natal women, First Responder, Laser therapy and Custom Orthotics. Dr. Baert is also registered with the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board, Veterans Affairs Canada and is a Motor Vehicle Accident Insurance Health Care Provider. Dr. Baert believes it is important to treat the individual and not just the condition and that proper rehabilitation is a vital component of treatment and future injury prevention. Eric has received further postgraduate training in a variety of therapeutic modalities that he combines to provide a comprehensive treatment for his patients. Some of the outstanding teams and competitions Eric has been a part of include the Sarnia Sting (OHL), 2024 and 2020 Summer Olympic Games, 2023 & 2022 World Athletics Championships, 2019 Pan American Games, 2018 Commonwealth Games, 2018 U20 World Athletics Championships, and multiple OHL Gold Cup (Team Alliance) teams. Dr. Hodgins obtained his four year honors undergraduate degree in Kinesiology from The University of Western Ontario. He then completed a four year program at The Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in Toronto to receive his Doctorate of Chiropractic. Dr Jeff Hodgins has continued his education doing post-graduate work in acupuncture with McMaster University as well as The Acupuncture Foundation of Canada. He also has completed a variety of courses in Active Release Therapy, Laser therapy, Custom Orthotics, running injuries, radiology and is a First Responder. Dr. Hodgins enjoys having very diverse practice working with a variety of patients and athletes. He is registered with the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board, Veterans Affairs Canada and the First Nations & Inuit Health Canada. Since entering into practice in Sarnia, Dr Hodgins has continued to volunteer his time to a variety of organizations and clubs. These groups range from Lambton College, the Easter Seals, the medical teams of Skate Canada, varsity teams, the Esso Women’s National Hockey Club, to doing health and safety for many local industries. Jeff is happily married to Dr. Elizabeth Hodgins, a chiropractor in Corunna. His free time is usually spent mountain biking, as well as, spending time in and on the water. Dr. Quinn obtained her four-year undergraduate degree in Exercise Science from Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana. She then completed a four-year program at The Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in Toronto to receive her Doctor of Chiropractic. After completing her education, Dr. Quinn is thrilled to be back home working and living in the Sarnia area. She grew up here playing many sports including travel hockey and soccer but particularly fell in love with track and field. She was a summer camp coach with the Sarnia Athletics South West Track and Field club and was heavily involved with local athletic events. She competed in triple jump in NCAA Division 1 in the Big Ten Conference for the Indiana Hoosiers during her undergraduate education.

Dr. Quinn’s approach to chiropractic care includes a variety of techniques including manipulative and soft tissue therapy, mobilization, exercise rehabilitation and patient education. She has also completed the McMaster Contemporary Acupuncture course, is an Active Release Techniques® (ART®) Certified Provider and is certified in Class IV Laser therapy. She is also certified as a First Responder & CPR-BLS through the Canadian Red Cross.

Dr. John Vargo is a chiropractic sports injury specialist and one of the founding members of the Sarnia Chiropractic and Performance Centre. He was the team chiropractor for the Canadian track and field team at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. He has been a member of Athletics Canada’s medical team and travelled with them to events in over 10 different countries around the world including the Commonwealth Games, World Championships, Diamond League meets and training camps. Dr. Vargo is the team chiropractor for the Sarnia Sting Junior A Hockey Team and also currently acts as a Chiropractic sports injury consultant for several NHL and NFL players. Dr. Vargo received his Honors Bachelor of Science Degree in Human Kinetics from the University of Guelph and his Chiropractic degree from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in Toronto. He also completed a post-graduate Chiropractic sports injury specialty and is a Fellow in the Royal College of Chiropractic Sports Sciences (Canada). His goal is to continue along a path of life-long learning and elite sports medicine experiences and to bring that same level of expert treatment provided to professional and Olympic athletes to the patients of all ages and activity levels at the Sarnia Chiropractic and Performance Centre.
